Selectively reduce abdominal fat (core effect)

Target of action:

 Preferentially act onVisceral adipose tissue (deep abdominal fat), promoting fat breakdown through the following pathways:

·Activate hormone - sensitive lipase in adipocytes, accelerating the hydrolysis of triglycerides into free fatty acids.

·Inhibit adipocyte synthesis (reduce fat accumulation), while having a relatively minor impact on subcutaneous fat.

Clinical evidence:

·In a Phase III clinical trial of HIV patients, after 26 weeks of treatment, the visceral fat volume decreased by approximately 19% on average, and the effect could persist for several months after drug withdrawal.

·Compared with exogenous growth hormone (GH), Tesamorelin has a higher selectivity for visceral fat, a weaker anabolic effect on muscles and bones, and reduces the risk of side effects such as edema and joint pain.

Formulations and Administration

·Formulations: Injection: Prefilled pen syringes (e.g., 2 mg/0.5 mL), single - dose and for one - time use only, to be stored under refrigeration.
