The core function of thymosin α1 is to enhance immune function, which is mainly achieved through the following pathways:

Promote the development and activation of T cells

·Stimulate the differentiation and maturation of immature T cells (especially CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ cells) in the thymus, and increase the number and function of T cells.

·Enhance the expression of T cell surface antigen receptors (TCRs), and promote the recognition and response of T cells to pathogens.

Regulate cytokine secretion

·Promote the production of Th1 - type cytokines (such as interferon - γ, interleukin - 2) and enhance cellular immune function.

·Inhibit excessive inflammatory responses (such as reducing the levels of pro - inflammatory factors like IL - 6) and balance immune homeostasis.

Enhance the function of immune effector cells

·Activate natural killer cells (NK cells) and macrophages, and improve their killing ability against tumor cells or pathogens.
