Molecular Formula: Usually exists in the form of a complex. The main component is Apramycin A (with a molecular formula of C₂₂H₄₃N₅O₁₃, and the sulfate form will combine with sulfate radicals).

Mechanism of action

It binds to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins, and thus exerts a bactericidal effect. It has antibacterial activity against a variety of Gram-negative bacteria (such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, etc.) and some Gram-positive bacteria, and may still be effective especially against strains resistant to other aminoglycoside antibiotics

Clinical Application

Mainly used for infections caused by sensitive bacteria in livestock and poultry. For example:

Pigs: Yellow diarrhea, white diarrhea, edema disease in piglets, and porcine colibacillosis, etc.

Poultry: Pullorum disease in chickens, avian colibacillosis, avian salmonellosis, etc.

Usage Method: It is often administered orally, intramuscularly, or via drinking water in dosage forms such as soluble powder and injection.
