What is Spectinomycin Hydrochloride?

Spectinomycin dihydrochloride pentahydrate is an aminocylcitol antibiotic which is closely related to the aminoglycosides. it has strong inhibition ability to gram negative bacteria and positive bacteria and mould. Such as staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus, escherichia coli, salmonella, bacilli and mould and some vibrio are effective.It is an antibiotic used in the treatment and control of infectious bacterial enteritis in animals. Used in drug testing against nonreplicating mycobacterium tuberculosis.
