Pharmacological action

Category: Fourth-generation quinolone broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs.

Mechanism of action: By inhibiting bacterial DNA topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV, it interferes with the processes of bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair, thereby killing bacteria.

Antibacterial Spectrum:

Gram-positive Bacteria: Such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-sensitive strains).

Gram-negative Bacteria: Such as Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa (some strains).

Atypical Pathogens: Such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Legionella pneumophila.

Anaerobic Bacteria: Such as Bacteroides fragilis, Peptostreptococcus, etc.

Usage and Dosage:

Oral Preparations: The usual dosage is 400 mg (1 tablet), once daily, which can be taken on an empty stomach or after meals.

Injectable Preparations: Intravenous infusion, the dosage is usually 400 mg, once daily, and the infusion time should be no less than 60 minutes.

Treatment Course: It is adjusted according to the type of infection, generally 5 - 14 days.
