II. Antibacterial Properties

Mechanism of Action

Binds to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, inhibits protein synthesis, and belongs to bacteriostatic agents (it can kill sensitive bacteria at high concentrations).

Antibacterial spectrum

Susceptible bacteria: Gram-positive bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus), anaerobic bacteria (such as Bacteroides fragilis, Clostridium perfringens).

Resistant bacteria: Gram-negative bacilli (such as Escherichia coli), Enterococcus, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia.

III.Formulations and Administration

Oral Administration: Adults: 0.5 - 1g per dose, 3 - 4 times a day; Children: 10 - 20mg/kg per day, divided into 3 - 4 doses (Better absorption when taken on an empty stomach).

Injection: Adults: 1.2 - 2.4g per day, divided into 2 - 3 intramuscular injections or intravenous infusions (Concentration of intravenous infusion ≤ 6mg/ml, infusion rate ≤ 20mg/min).
